Calioásis Association and Grupo Alves Bandeira United by the Same Mission
2024-09-05Grupo Alves Bandeira and the Calioásis Association are pleased to announce the signing of a cooperation protocol with the purpose of enhancing Calioásis' capacity to respond and materializing Grupo Alves Bandeira's social responsibility, sharing the same mission: to support families affected by cancer and other equally serious pediatric diseases.
For the 100% Portuguese economic group, this support reinforces the Group's commitment to social and community initiatives, actively contributing to the well-being of families and children in vulnerable situations.
For the Calioásis Association, whose mission is to promote family resilience through a holistic approach centered on the humanization of care provided to children and young people with cancer and their caregivers, it is essential and critical for its future to engage more companies, entities, and associates with the Association's mission.
With several national awards and international recognition, Calioásis has stood out for its innovative and truly humanized approach in promoting the mental health, quality of life, and well-being of children, young people, and their caregivers as they face profound challenges during the difficult journey of cancer treatments.
Rui Bandeira, President of Grupo Alves Bandeira, highlights the importance of this protocol and the work developed by the Association: "Supporting Calioásis goes far beyond a partnership. It is a commitment to social responsibility and the future of our communities. We believe that this kind of support is essential to make a difference in the lives of many families."
Daniel Francisco, President of Calioásis, emphasizes: "We are very grateful to Grupo Alves Bandeira for this support, which will allow us to continue our mission of providing humanized care to the families and children who need it most. The company's contribution to the transformation of the 'Carrinha de Encantar' will be fundamental in bringing joy and comfort to these families."
The "Carrinha de Encantar" aims to bring recreational and wellness activities to children with cancer and their caregivers in the central region of Portugal. The methodology, tested in a pilot project, focuses on selecting activities personalized for each child, approved by the family, providing regular moments of relaxation and relief during cancer treatments.
In addition to the donation already granted by Grupo Alves Bandeira as part of the protocol signing, other initiatives are planned, including a charity concert to be held by the end of the year, with all proceeds going entirely to the Association's mission. In early 2025, a national fundraising campaign will be launched at Alves Bandeira fuel stations.
With this protocol, Grupo Alves Bandeira reinforces its commitment to being a socially responsible, active company engaged with the community in which it operates, contributing to the improvement of the quality of life for families in need.
